Stop. Just stop doing it. Don't buy them. If you're near them, ignore them. Would you rather eat sweets and enjoy the taste for a few moments or have to work days, weeks, and months to get the weight off? It's about choices. Don't you feel like crap after you give in and eat like crap? Don't do it!0

Have you been getting enough sleep lately? When you are stressed and sleep deprived its almost impossible to regain willpower. I have twins so I go through this alot. I have been good for 3 days now but I struggle everyday. I can sometimes eat a pint of Ben and Jerrys in a sitting or package of cookies. Don't keep stuff in the house and make sure you are getting enough rest and taking time to relax. It's really important! Good luck!0

You can also have a small amount of sweets. For example maybe you can have 2-3 Hershey's kisses every other day or every week. It could be your "chocolate cheat day."
Good luck!

try distraction. If you are having a craving for something bad, drink a big glass of water, go for a walk, listen to fast paced energetic music, move your body, talk to someone, get away from the food you want, and first and foremost, if the cravings are THAT bad, remove them from your reach. Put them in a trash bag, bring them downtown and throw them in a dumpster where you wouldn't dare dig for them. You can substitute high fat chocolate for a cup of cocoa made with low fat milk, or a low sugar fudgecicle. Do you drink a lot of diet soda? The sweet taste actually causes your body to crave more sweet, more sugar. Basically, you need to get away from the temptations if you can't get them away from you. Veggies are not the only key to curb cravings, cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, milk, hard boiled egg, almond butter are all high in protein and very effective in reducing cravings. Weight Watchers makes a great string cheese that is only 50cal per serving, but has lots of protein. Imagine, you could eat two of them, and still be in only for 100 calories. Another thing, there are many candy free check out counters at stores and grocers, use them...0

100% true!0 -
What worked for me was that I switched out my normal sweets for either no sugar added, or sugar free sweets. I don't deny myself anything. It is hard to give them up when your body is addicted to them, and even harder when you're under stress. Get rid of what's in your house now, give it to a neighbor, or throw it away, and go get yourself some sugar free alternatives. The Jello sugar free pudding really helps my chocolate cravings, and is only 60 calories a cup.0

I'm the exact same way. I eat it because it's there, and before I know it I've eaten a whole box of wafer cookies and barely tasted them! I definitely do better by simply not buying that junk. If it's not in the house, I won't eat it! Sometimes I get frustrated by the cravings when I don't have that stuff around, but they pass!0 -
Easter and Halloween are the WORST times of year for me and sweets, I have two kids, so there is always candy in the house especially at these times.. In fact, the easter bunny left the extra cadbury eggs in a bag right under my desk. I said in my post yesterday, to get rid of all the temptations, if they aren't there, you can't eat them, yes, true, and it's a big emotional high to rid those things of your life once and for all! But at the same time, and I know it's a contradiction, your body needs to adjust slowly to not having them. and on the same level, you can't deprive yourself of something your brain is craving, or it will backfire on you. You could go two weeks, a month without something your body is addicted to, then you will sleep badly, or have a bad day at work and you will find yourself in a bag of pb cups, and the whole bag will be gone before you know it. Ease away from these things just like you ease into a fitness routine. You can't go from being sedentary to benching 450lb in one day, how can you expect your brain and body to quit the thing's it's addicted to in one day? Don't leave the temptations on the counter, or in the closest cabinet to the fridge. Leave it in the pantry closet down the hall, leave it in the freezer. YOU have to make the conscious decision when it's right for you to physically and emotionally detach from being addicted to these things. For me, it was when i looked at that scale, and I knew it was accurate, and it was at a weight that I swore I would NEVER let myself get to.
If you're going to have a treat, LOG IT. Don't deprive yourself of a pb cup if your body is craving it so badly that you can't help yourself, but reel in your self control and say "I can only have one" and mean it, be honest with yourself. enjoy it, eat it slowly, so it melts on your fingers and you have to lick them off, then put the bag away. Exercise your self control, it is after all, the biggest muscle in your body, and the most difficult one to kick into shape.0
