Zumba friends! Question about shoes

I was wondering what types of shoes people prefer for Zumba workouts? My normal running and walking shoes don't seem to be working too well. They are kind of hard to dance in and my feet can hurt and feel and strained when I am done. Thanks!!! ~Melanie

I bought Ryka Transitions for Zumba. Lots of lateral support and breathable.

I bought Nike TR Free...very flexible and so far have worked pretty good.

I have to correct my previous reply. I actually returned the Ryka Transitions due to lack of lateral support and purchased the Ryke studio flex low instead. The studio flex low have great lateral support.

I didn't want to spend alot of money so I didn't go for the Nikes or Rykas.. But I found these (link below) they got great reviews and I've had them now for months and love, love, love them! I did go off the site and get a size bigger and still way to small. I wear a 10 in street shoes and had to order a 14 in these. They are alittle big but not enough to matter. They work perfect on carpet too!! and just so you know when I ordered the wrong size they were great about returning. I just ordered the new pair so I'd get them faster and then shipped the wrong ones back for a refund and got my refund within 2 wks.

thanks for the ideas--I need to find some better "dance" shoes for my class (and also so I can do Zumba DVDs at home on the carpet, which I haven't tried yet...

to add on. I do Zumba at home on carpet and with regular cross trainers my knees and back were killing me after. Since I've been using these shoes I'm never sore.. except my muscles the next day! hehehe Plus I can move way better with them since they are so flexable. And hey they look good too!!

Are you in a class or at home? That sounds awesome---I don't know if our studio will allow it, though.

Those are super cute! They get awesome reviews on the site, too. Might have to try those out. Thanks!
