Hi guys,
Im new on here but been using the iphone app for a while now. Im 5,3 and more trying to tone rather than lose weight although a few pounds less would also be nice.
I walk a lot with my husband and do a Zumba class once a week (thinking about upping that to 2) but am limited as I spend 8 hours a day sat at a desk at work. Worse I am booked in for abdominal surgery on June 30th and will be unable to do anything other than 'moderate' excercise for almost 2 months after.
Has anyone been in this position? I don't know what I can do and am afraid of putting on weight while I recover.

I worried about that when I had my hysterectomy a couple of years ago. Take it very slowly, walking is a good thing. It also helps the recovery. So I walked alot (very slowly, LOL) and watched what I ate. Although you are not burning many calories during recovery from activities your body burns extra calories during the healing process. I was actually at my lowest body weight ever about 8 weeks after the surgery.0

I think this is a question best answered by your doctor, or the surgical team. I had keyhole surgery a couple of years ago, I got a very helpful leaflet detailing what I could & couldn't do, how long I should wait before driving etc. It really surprised me how much you use abdominal muscles, I was shocked by how incapacitated I initially was. Check with your doc!0

I guess it really depends on the surgery and how quickly you recover afterwards. Best to check with your doctor, he will keep you right. :flowerforyou:0
