Newbie question: When is too much protein a bad thing?

I was going over my food log for the day and noticed that I am 460 calories short of my daily allowance but 13g over my protein allowance as per the site. Now I take a multi-vitamin, and a few other supplements and I try to make sure I get enough fiber as well, so is being that far over a bad thing? It allows me 68g/day for protein but today for instance I am going to end up at 81g with what I have planned to eat. I tend to have this problem with protein I am noticing. I only eat lean meats like fish and poultry, and I do my best to balance it out with plenty of fruits and veggies.

It really shouldn't be a problem, not at this amount. If you were doing Atkins and ate VERY high protein levels, that I would say is not so great for you (or your kidneys). I'm doing about what you're doing, and I'm mainly going over because I do one protein shake after my workout, which is helpful for recovery.0
