Zig-zag workouts?

I always see posts on here about zig-zagging calories to keep your metabolism guessing. Do you do something similar with your workouts? I completed JM 30 Day Shred and now I'm on week 2 of her Ripped in 30. Will I get better results by changing my workouts from day to day or sticking with Ripped in 30 for the 5 or 6 days a week that she recommends?
