Hello,

My name is Brian, I'm 32 and I'm new to MFP. A bit of history about myself; I did the medifast thing for a few months, dropped 35 pounds and was feeling good about myself. Now I've gained 20 of those pounds back. I've attempted to eat well, have smaller meals, and exercise when I can. But it's tough. I work a sedentary job (programmer), I take 2 classes at college where 1 is on campus and the other online and about 6 hours worth of homework a week. I have an awesome wife whom I'm proud that she has lost over 100lbs since the birth of our son and weighs less than she did in High School. But I'm struggling to maintain my weight below 250. Granted I carry my weight well, I'm large framed, semi-muscular guy. But I want to get down to 200lbs. So, that's my soap box story. I'm glad to be here and hope I can achieve my goals.

Hi Brian! Welcome to MFP, feel free to add me as a friend if you like. I have a friend that used to live in St. Louis Park, MN. Is that near you?

Hi Brian, good to meet you. Best of luck in your journey. I have just moved away from Weight Watchers to MFP. I was happy and doing fine on WW but found the proprietary nature of WW to be a little stifling. Besides, this is "free" and I think I will do as well or maybe better.

I know what you are talking about with the sendentary work/school life. Exercise will help a great deal if you can find ways to incorporate it into your life. Family time exercise? Could be worth some consideration!

Wow, a really quick an active community. I like it!

@jill5280 - I have been attempting some exercise. Walking at 4.0 mph for 45 min while I watch tv in the evenings Going to attempt that 5x a week. Doing P90X workouts when I have time, usually 1-2 a week. Just not a whole lot of time to workout, and I didn't mention earlier that I have bad knees. 3 surgeries on the left knee and 2 on the right knee. So running, jumping jacks, squats are all out of the picture. Walking hurts as well, but I have to do something....

@Moneylov311 - St Louis Park is not terribly far away, I live just south of the Twin Cities.
