What to add to fromage frais?

I have just recently found this and love the petit filous and munch bunch, but thought I would try the healthier version, 0.1% natural. I really hate yoghurt so this is a great alternative for me. I tried it with honey and cashews and raisins, and I think it just hid the bitterness.

Any other ideas what I could put in it? Not fruit though, as my stomach cant take much.

Thanks

I usually add fruit. But, I use it or Quark (similar, but much thicker) all the time- mixed with cereal or crumbled cereal bars. It's also good stirred into hot oatmeal! I always add some sort of sweetener, unless I am using a mix-in that is really sweet (like the Nature's Valley bars- I mix them in the night before and it tastes like cheesecake!) Jam, peanut butter, a sachet of hot chocolate powder, crumbled homemade wholewheat muffins... Another all-time favourite is cooking muesli like porridge (ie, w/ water in the microwave) and mixing in.

Can be used in a savoury way too- on top of chilli like sour cream, mixed with salsa for a creamy dip/salad dressing, etc. Or into tuna instead of mayo, or into a pasta dish to make it creamy. There are a few posts about Greek yoghurt that are interchangeable with fromage frais

Great, thanks for all those suggestions. So what is quark?

Quark is technically a cheese so is stored by cream cheese/cottage cheese instead of in the yoghurt section. Are you in the UK? All the big supermarkets sell it (Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, etc). Brands don't vary much and 1 tub is 2 servings of 125g- 80 calories, 15g protein and 0g fat. It tastes like a combination of cream cheese and fat free fromage frais/Greek yogurt- not as sour/tart as plain yoghurt can be though, and MUCH thicker. The Sainsbury's "Be Good To Yourself" is runnier than other brands- most are so thick you can stand a spoon up in it or spread it with a knife. It melts really well though- I usually stir it into hot oatmeal or mix it with sliced banana and some cereal. It's SO good and so much cheaper than Greek yoghurt (around 70p per tub). I am obsessed with it and eat at least 1 tub a day!
