My mom and I have been doing C25K (Couch to 5K Training Program) for 6 weeks now. Today was our longest run, 20 minutes straight. Back when we started the program, running 90 seconds was nearly impossible, but today, with God's amazing strength, we ran that 20 minutes like it was NOTHING! I am just so in awe. I never in a million years would have thought I could run for 5 minutes, much less 20. This is truly a milestone and major accomplishment for me and my mom. What a great thing to accomplish together right before Mother's Day!

that's fantastic! I did week 4 day 1 last night, and was worried about the 5min stretch, but I did it, now I'm worrying about the 8 min stretch next week!

Thanks for motivating me! I have the C25K app downloaded and ready to go, but I haven't given myself that final push to go out and do it. I've never been a runner, and a little scared to start it. But I want that satisfaction of saying "I can run!" It helps to hear others who never felt they were runners, yet are successful with the program!

You are at exactly the same point I am. I was scared of the 5 min, too, but was surprised how well it went!

Wow, that is inspiring! Was it inside on treadmill or was it outside that you were running? I have always wanted to run, but it’s so difficult to start and stick with it because I suck at it, like you were, I'm barley able to do 90 seconds lol I might have to look into this training. Thank you for sharing it! Incredible accomplishment by the way!

Thanks so much, everyone!!!! It really is an amazing feeling to know that I am actually a runner now! Now all I want to do is go further and get faster, LOL!

And we run outside in my mother's subdivision. It's a beautiful area in the country, perfect for running!

That's fantastic - I'm one day off finishing week 3 and am finding the 3 minute runs OK - much easier than I found the 60 second runs when I first started, but I must admit I can't imagine being able to do the 5 minute runs next week. You have, however, given me hope!! Well done to you both :flowerforyou:
