Wow, every day I see people introducing themselves! Here goes...
I joined in March after seeing my husband successfully lose weight with MFP. I was hesitant at first to get into keeping track of calories and stuff because I do have a history of an eating disorder (I'm recovered now, but my weight has been as low as 103 and I'm 5'8"...ICK!) but I'm learning that counting calories is not the same as restricting/obsessing/being unhealthy about it. My goal weight is 145, NOT "Let's see how low I can get the numbers on the numbers on the scale." BIG difference. But I do want to be healthy, and it's been an eye opener to keep track of what I'm actually eating and how many calories I'm burning with exercising. I'm working to make it so that not exercising every day feels wrong - like not brushing my teeth or any other part of my routine. I started at 171 pounds and I'm at 158.5 as of this morning. I do have trouble on occasion eating ALL of my calories - not for any eating disorder reason, it's just poor planning - but usually I'm pretty on target. And I certainly am not about to deny myself anything - I am a chocoholic and like it that way.
Oh - and I tend to babble when I write.
