stupid newbie problem

Hi y'all,
First of all, I've never worked out in my entire life, excluding the two hours of physical education in school, so don't be too though on my silly problem
I want to start slow so I decided to start by doing crunches, problem is, I always end up hurting my coccyx, not broken or anything, I can live through it, but I just know it's not the good way to go, obviously.
I know it's because of my posture but I have no idea how to correct it (I'm trying but I can't), do any of you have some sort of "tips"?
Thanks a lot, and I apologize if someone already ask.
