In 2/2006 I quit smoking, 9/2008 I had a baby, 6/2009 I was told I had breast cancer. I have survived all of that, but I can't seem to lose 60 pounds. Has anyone else out there been down this road? Weight loss is not rocket science. I have the tools I need, but I don't seem to b able to regain control of myself. Are there other cancer surviors here?

I am also a Cancer survivor and I also have a hard time losing the last 30 lbs. I quit smoking in 2001 after my diagnosis.

    Hi there,

I have never had cancer. I have lost 80 pounds to date. I quit smoking after losing the first 60 of that 80, and then just kept right on going. Since I used to turn to food and cigarettes a lot for ways of dealing with anxiety, I now find that I more anxious in general; however, I am working really hard to get through this.

The fact that you beat cancer, quit smoking, and had a baby makes you, in my eyes, incredibly strong. You can lose the 60 pounds too—just apply the same determination:)

    Good luck.

I have not survived cancer myself, but my stepmom had leukemia and my 15 yr old cousin just beat Hodgkin's Lymphoma and both have had a hard time losing the weight they gained from chemo and radiation. I have heard that treatment of cancer can make losing weight difficult. My stepmom has been doing the HCG diet and found some success with that.

Great job on all your success and I am sure you'll beat this weight battle as well!

Welcome aboard. I have never smoked or had cancer, but I do have 2 babies (2 years and 10 months). You can lose the 60 lbs, trust me. I never thought I could lose weight either, and I am down almost 40 lbs (in 7 months). You can do this with a little motivation and determination. Feel free to add me for extra support.
