How do you set your goals?

I was wondering how everyone decides what goals they should set. I have seen a few in signatures and decided to make my own, but I am thinking I set my final goal too far away. How often do you change them and what about when you reach a goal?
I like having goals, they make me work harder!

    I set my first goal as the number that would move me out of the obese category! My next goal was not to be overweight, and now I would like to be about in the middle of the healthy scale on my BMI, but it is up to, everyone is unique
