New to the boards but not new to weight loss.

Hello everyone! I joined this website since seeing my friend caitysparkles joined and she's been having fantastic success. I'm just going to copy and paste my story from my profile since it sums everything up pretty well.
I've been dancing the weight loss dance for years now, always losing a bit but then gaining it all back. I've tried practically every diet out there but I've never went through a full lifestyle change.
My fiance was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure and it's forced us both to look at our lives and how we live/eat. We used to eat fast food more often than not, constantly going out to eat and ordering the worst items on the menu.
Now, we have no choice but to make our food at home with eating at restaurants being a very rare occurrence. I have to watch his salt intake along with making sure we're eating heart healthy meals.
I'm upset that it took such a large catalyst to get us to this point but we're changing our lifestyles now. My fiance's quality of life depends on how we eat and how often we exercise.
I'm in this for the long haul now.

I admire your courage to tell your story. You already have the first mile of success behind you having Caity as a mentor in this. And having your sweetheart's health in the balance is not something you're going to get frustrated with and shrug off. MFP is a glorious place for finding support and the rah-rah's you'll need along the way. I promise mine.0

I am so glad you are here, Lexi! I am so flattered that I inspired you to come here but I'm sure you'll find that there are SO many amazing people here at MFP. So many people here have helped me. *points to Adelle*
I know you can do this! I already am loving your attitude and I know that you are in the right mindset. And we're all here to help! Again I am so sorry that you have had to go through all this medical stuff lately but I am glad he is okay and I know that you can both keep being healthier! The changes you have made already have been fabulous!
*picks up a pom pom*
