 Wow! i just bought the ripped in 30 today. I have seen so many people on here who have used it and have gotten some good results. But wow....I am feeling pretty down now. I didn't know it would be so hard for me! There were a number of things I couldn't do! I feel kind of discouraged and I know i just have to keep at it...but just feel like I'll never be able to tone!

Don't give up. Each day you do it, it'll get easier. Heck, I've been going to the gym religiously for over a year, I can run on the treadmill and such -- yet, whenever I do Tae Bo I feel like a truck ran over me. I have to pause it to catch my breath and often struggle through the very end of it. I feel so out of shape when I do it - but I realize it is just different than what my body is used to and doing it is making me stronger. :)

the best advice for this is... dont let what you cant do stop you from what you can do. :) it may seem difficult but you can try modified versions of moves or try doing less reps. the more you do the more your body will strengthen until you can achieve the full move. hope this was helpful! and remember, believe in yourself and you'll go far :flowerforyou:

Wow, thought I was the only one...I haven't done Ripped in 30 with Jillian but I have her others and they don't kill me like Tae Bo does. Then again it depends on the day..some days I'm fine, others I want to pass out.

To the original poster-All of Jillians videos are tough to start out but do know that it is perfectly okay to modify the moves until you are comfortable with them. You can do this and you will be ripped! Take one day at a time and you will be soooo happy you continued on with it!(we can't wait to hear how it went for you!)

Thank you ALL so much for all the encouraging words! I feel better now about the situation...I am just going to take all your advice and just modify some moves and/or do less reps. I hope that it does get easier! I didn't expect a Jillian Michaels DVD to be easy....but I didn't know it would be so hard!! ha ha Thanks girls!

I quit the 30 day shred after 8 days a month or so back because of joint pain. I knew it would be hard, but if anything defeated me, I would have thought it would be the push-ups, not the jumping jacks. I've been hitting the gym since then and hope to get back to the shred when my knees and ankles are stronger. Or maybe I should be looking around for something with a similar intensity that doesn't require so much jumping.

Billy Blanks is tough. I do it because I know it is working if my muscles are sore the next day. But, whew. Once a week is all my body can take. lol.

I did all 4 levels of Ripped in 30, I did one a week. When I started each level I thought I was going to die. I couldn't do some of the moves. By the end of the week I could do everything. Just modify what you can't do yet and soon you'll be able to do it all!!
