Hi there.I'm wondering how tall you are, how much you weigh and about how many calories you have daily to lose weight. I know we're all different but still fun to know :)
Me:
213
5'9"
1300-1500 daily
average 1 pound loss a week

I am 5'6" & my starting weight was at 212 pounds. I eat 1200 calories a week and only "eat back" exercise calories when my body feels that it needs it (i.e. light headed post work out, true hunger vs. emotional eating); then I only eat what one might consider "good choices". I work out 4 to 5 days a week as well. Currently I have lost 31 pounds using MFP & 9 pounds before for a total weight loss of 40 pounds; my average weight loss is 2 pounds/ week.

    Good question!

And congrats on your weight loss!
    :)

Started at 250 lbs. when I joined.
    Now at 221 lbs. currently
    Daily goal is 1940 calories.
I usually eat either less or right at 1940.
When I work out I always eat back some of the exercise calories. Your really supposed to.
    And I m 5' 11"
  • I'm 5'9", and started out at 202 (5 weeks ago) with a 1 lb loss/week calculated at a little less than 1900 calories daily.
Right now, I'm at 195, and increased my projected weight loss to 1.5 lb daily, which gives me 1550 cal/day.

Guess I should clairfy - I was set up on here by a nutritionist. She said my daily goals would be higher then others (started with 1800) but that was because she didn't want me to eat back my exercise calories. 1880 was sort of a median calorie goal so if I didn't work out I was still filling up my body, but if I did work out I'd have a larger deficit.

I agree that if your calorie goal is set more aggressively you should eat back your calories.

I've been here 32 weeks making my average loss is .75lbs a week. It would be higher if I hadn't seen 2 plateaus - each being about a month long. But the weight is coming off and I have no fear that the rest will follow!

Great question - I wish more people had answered, I love seeing the different approaches!
