  • I usually go with the steamed chicken & brocolli. At the take-out place we order from it comes with steamed white rice. I may eat about 1/2 the serving of chicken & veggies, and about a 1/2 cup of the rice. Hope this helps.

Our local restaurant has steamed choices. It doesn't offer brown rice but I usually skip the white rice. Our sauce comes on the side too so I either do a little for extra flavor or none...depending on what I feel like. Load up on the steamed veggies and maybe get some steamed chicken or shrimp with it. I don't usually get soup but I believe both the egg drop and wonton soup are low in cals.

I found this on Weight Watchers website

    Chinese
Plain rice or noodles are healthier accompaniments to Chinese food. Jill Franks says: "Dishes with vegetables, chicken and noodles are not as stodgy and are easier to digest. Go for a fine noodle, like Singapore noodles."
A fresh stir-fry of meat and fresh vegetables is better. "These don't use sticky creamy sauces and maybe only a couple of tablespoons of oil,"
At the Chinese takeaway, the danger lies in the deep fried foods - avoid prawn crackers and anything cooked in batter, like pork or prawn balls.
    Danger words: special fried, batter

I usually get steamed shrimp and broccoli with Gen Tso sauce on the side. According to MFP if you use about 1/2-3/4 of the sauce, and a half cup of white rice the entire dish is approx 650 calories. Not bad considering what you are eating.

You can never go wrong with their steamed veggies. NOT cooked in sauce
