I'm sick and tired of being stuck in a rut! When i'm good and exercise and stick to it perfectly the scales don't budge! it's so frustrating! what can i do to keep my spirits up and keep motivated? and still have a life and go out with my friends? At the moment every weekend is full with seeing friends and going out for meals and drinking. Most of the time i drive to avoid drinking but sometimes it's unavoidable. I try to always pick the healthier option in restaurants too.

I love to go to the gym but i work full time and i do private beauty therapy clients in the evening after work 3-4 times a week and haven't got to the gym in nearly 3 weeks! i'm going insane! and i also find it hard to log all the food i eat as i live in England and some oods are'nt listed (the restaurants i go to)

Sorry, rant over! any one have any advice?

Are you measuring inches? I was unhappy with the scales until someone told me to measure inches as well. You may not see the scale move, but the measuring tape does. I lost about 3 inches on my stomach one week, but still weighed the same... Keep at it!!! You will see results, don't worry

It's good that you ranted - sometimes that's enough to make us feel better! It is frustrating when you work a lot. I work from home, which in theory means I have "all kinds of free time" because I don't have to commute - but I find myself working all the time and trying to fit in the grocery store, the bank, dr. appointments, doing the laundry, haircut, yardwork now that it's warmer. With exercising regulary I feel like my house is getting dirtier and dirtier by the day because I can't keep up with cleaning. Wouldn't it be nice if we had more hours in the day, a personal chef, and personal assistant, and a trainer? I guess we can just keep juggling. Even when the weight isn't coming off, at least we are doing better than we were before we started making those changes. Sooner or later, it HAS to happen for us!

Hey, I just ranted, too! Best of luck in sticking with it. The fact that you are posting means you're not giving up and that's progress in itself!!!:flowerforyou:

Denise980: I haven't actually measured for about 4-6 weeks actually. I think i will do that tomorrow morning and weigh myself too.

ALW65 : You rant away, it's nice to hear other people's stories and hear how they got back on track. I totally understand what you mean as i try and slide in housework and cooking and cleaning. I agree would definitely help o have a personal trainer and personal chef all the time. you are so right, i try and think about what i'm doing even if i don't get to "complete" a food diary, i think about what i'm eating. And yes, it HAS to come off eventually. I think sometimes i might actually log housework, as cleaning kitchen cupboards out and hoovering stairs is most definitely burning some calories as i'm always cream crackerd after!

    good luck to you too!

    Thank you for the replies!
