What WII exercise do you do?

I have EA Sport Fitness I think is great, it comes with a leg strap and resistance band. The only thing it doesnt do is sit ups.
I also have WII fit plus, but find it quite tame and dont find the cardio stuff on there that intense. I think having a good boxing session with someone on sport is really good and gets me sweating and can hardly move my arms the next day. I also do batting practise and boxing training and try and beat my scores.

Is there any Kickboxing type games out there?

I do wii fit, but only because i don't have anyone else to play with.. and the ea sports game seemed better if you have someone else there. But then, i use it only as a mild exercise each day, i do it for about 40 minutes every day and still burn between 150 and 200 calories doing so, according to my HRM, so that's plenty for me for now.

I also have wii sports resort.. but that really isn't active lol.

Soon i'm just going to start the 30 Day Shred, and see what that does for me.

Although i'm hearing more and more good things about EA sports fitness.. i might try it out soon.

I've heard if you use the balance board with EA sports boxing turns into kick boxing.

I also do EA sports and LOVE it. I am 3 days away from finishing the 30 day challenge on medium and will kick it up to hard after a day of rest. After June (when I finish the challenge on hard) I'm going to purchase EA sports 2! I've heard its an even better, more intense workout and the HRM makes a great, positive, difference in the level of workouts the game gives you.

If you like EA Sports Active 1, then you HAVE to buy EA Sports Active 2. It has awesome core exercises. (DH and kids make fun of me because I end up lying on the ground moaning from the workout :P) The leg strap has it's own monitor instead of having to put the nunchuk in it. There is also an armband monitor with a heart rate monitor in it. It is WAY COOL!

Other than that, I have Wii Fit and Fit Plus. I also have DDR3. I haven't used any of those recently.

I think there's a zumba one that I'd like to try out.

I am not sure about kick boxing, except for what you can do on EA Active. EA Active has one where you use the fit board and kick a boxing bag.
I use EA active, I've got fit and fit plus but I don't use them much anymore because I don't find them intense enough. I mostly use active and my fitness coach. I am currently loving my fitness coach because you can do pretty much everything with it. It has programs for cardio, upper body, lower body, flexibilty, core strenth and yoga plus you can also incorporate your own equipment such as hand weights and stability balls. I try and use my fitness coach about five days a week I usually do 2 or 3 upper body work outs, a core strength work out and yoga.

I saygo for EA active 2.

I also just got gold gym cadio workout ofr WII and am sore today LOL. I played it for like an hour yesterday! Learning the dodges and punches. Got frustrated with the wii-mote though and had to switch it out with the one in my sons room (you can use two wii-motes in stead of a ninchuck/wi-mote combo) Using the more sensitive motion-plus wii-motes worked much better at counting my punches and dodges. I digress..LOL

I use wii fit plus too...love the stepping and bought a riser to lift the board off the ground for a better workout...loved the boxing on fit plus...hence the reason I bought Gold Gym Cardio. I also have a game called Walk It Out...but instead of walking in place...which gets me nowhere...I use a mini-trampline to get my game on!

Awesome thanks for that!! I have Active 1 personal trainer and yes I did some kickboxing on it the other day. I really combat (like les mills body combat) but that sort of thing is really hard to find on DVD

Looks like I might invest in Active 2 by the sounds of it

I too am doing the 30 day challenge on EA Active, only on medium at the moment so will do this one then kick it up to intense.

I have the Wii Fit Plus and Biggest Loser and the Wii Fit Plus is FUN but it isn't what I'm looking for in a workout. I need to sweat, I need to feel the burn so I know I'm doing it right. Biggest Loser is pretty good, but I haven't really had a decent size room where I can do this.

I would like to try the Zumba one though!

oh and yay it comes with a heart rate monitor.....bonus
  • The best exercise I get is from the "Just Dance" games. They're fun, they get you sweating, and it's really nice to play with friends. Just Dance 2 also has a "Just Sweat" mode that calculates exercise and dance with a "sweat meter". It's not completely accurate, but if you need that "goal" to reach, this is the best mode. Give it a shot!

I have Zumba for the WII and its AWESOME!!!!

So much fun and better than just dance as you do have to move your whole body to get it right. There are loads of different workouts on there from beginner to expert. I do the 20 minute workout each day and it's really working for me :-)

I have Wii FitnessPlus, and I agree that it's not a super strong workout, but the game context is sometimes fun.

For really moving, I LOVE to dance...so I have Just Dance, Just Dance 2, Broadway Dance, and the Michael Jackson Experience. I use the Just Sweat mode in Just Dance 2 as a motivator to keep going, but the sweat points don't have any real connection to actual calories. I use a heart rate monitor to measure calories and the calories burned:sweat points relationship varies widely.

I've heard such good things about Zumba Fitness that I may have to break down and get it too!

The best thing about Wii for me is that it's right there in front of me every day. I work for myself, and I can just take a break from the computer, do a quick work out and return to the keyboard. None of the historic obstacles like dressing for the gym and driving there, nor the teeth clenching pain of getting myself to take out the bands, ball, and yoga mat.

can I count just dance as "dancing general"? and if so do I need to half the time or do I count the actual minutes?

Its the fast ones........i even had to go outside in the cold i was getting so hot........but its good cos I can see the TV through the window so might be nice to do all my workouts outside...........and Im sooooo over the lunges with toe touch.....takes sooooooo long to do the 20 and then I have to do them 3 times over the whole work out.....grrrrr
