Maybe try the first week without running in the mornings and see how you do. If you think you have the energy for both, do it! Good luck with P90X.

I honestly haven't used P90X yet (I'm too chicken! LOL); however, I have many friends who have. Some used it to supplement what they were already doing, while others did the program on its own. I suggest doing what feels good to you. I don't think it would be harmful to do running and P90X.

P90x is hard at first. I would take it in stride at first. Good luck.

I think that depends on your current fitness level as well as your fitness goals. How far do you run? Can you devote yourself to the P90X for the next 90 days and then pick your running back up where you left off? I've been through P90X twice, and it's a great experience. I would say start out doing just the P90X and then decide if you can run as well. I currently run 3 times a week and use the P90X weight and strength workouts on my non-running days.

I'm in the middle of my 5th round so here's my advice.

First off, Do the Classic program. Don't mess with the LEAN. The best results will be from the Classic program by far. The Lean program was a complete after thought. P90X was designed to be done as planned in the Classic program. Follow that and you'll get awesome results.

Most people wash out of P90X within the first 2 weeks so coupling that with additional running might make things tough on yourself. There's enough work in the program to help get you into shape,

Once you get into the program, if you feel you need some additional running do it on the resistance mornings. Your legs will be fried from Plyo X so a run the day after might be what they need to workout some of the soreness.

Best advice I got when I started, Don't let the first week get you down. It'sll be tough, you'll be sore, but just keep going and trust the program!!

Best of luck, you can do it!

i do additional cardio with p90x (classic).. either running or elliptical. the 1st time i did it, i did only the p90x program. it's definitely challenging.. do what you think suits you. i'd give it a try without it at first just so you can get a feel of how the program works then add your running depending on your energy & day. best wishes!
