make sure you bring a bottle and a towel. just wear anything.
short and a tshirt or vest are good cos they usually have aircon.
enjoy yourself0 -
Wear comfortable clothes, good pair of shoes. And for the first day, just go in and try things out. See what you like. You may like the cardio machines, or the weights. Either way as long as you are doing something Id say thats a great stride forward.
Good Luck~!!0 -
See if you can get someone that works at the gym to show you around before you start. For what to wear, wear what ever you were using to exercise in before. Short/capris and a tshirt or tank top is usually the standard.0

If you're new to the whole gym and workout scene, it's well worth it to get a trainer for a couple of sessions to show you how to use the machines and tell you which exercises you should be doing to help you reach your own personal goals.0

Before you go, call ahead and see if you can get a tour of the gym. Then you can also ask questions about how the machines work. Also look up group classes. I find going to a class keeps me there longer and I work harder. If nothing else, get on a treadmill and walk. Make sure you raise the height to at least 1 or 2. This will give you more of a flat surface instead of a downhill surface.

Ask for an induction so you know how the machines work and use the opportunity to discuss your goals and the best way to reach them.0

have fun with it--- make it fun for yourself, wear anything comfortable, but most importantly wear comfortable shoes and take some water with you, don't forget a towel, you will be sweating and you will have good use for it. Get on the treatmil for about 25 minutes, so that you can start off a good workout and don't forget to lift weights- not too heavy though, then you'll hurt yourself but make sure you do atleast 20 lifts....Remeber make it fun!! its all about you and enjoying your work out.. don't push it...0
