Hi all - I am new to MFP but am really enjoying the experience. I have a question regarding sugar free gum. I chew 2-4 pieces throught the day to help curb my appetite and I don't track it. Most gum is less than 5 calories and I was thinking that I probably burn those calories by chewing it. Does this sound reasonable or should I track it?

    I wouldnt track 5 calories

    I read before that you don't need to track it because the act of chewing it burns the 5 calories in it so it's pointless.

    you chew gum to curb your appitite? Thats odd because the chewing motion itself causes the brain to signal to the stomach to start digestion. when I chew gum I get super hungry.

    I personally feel the same way and don't bother logging it in either.

    I have a q in regards to your q. Would you track it if you swallow the gum?
