What have you got scheduled for the next 6 months? How about turning around your life?
Almost 6 months ago I started on this quest to regain my life. Not that my life wasn't a good one. It was actually pretty good. But for whatever reason I was on a sure path to shortening it. Last November I weighed 380 lbs, and was beginning to struggle with certain aspects of my health. Physically, my high blood pressure was getting harder to control, I lacked energy, and I was starting to feel pain all over. Mentally, I didn't feel good about myself, and I wasn't motivated to do much about it. I wanted to get fit, but having failed so many times before, I wasn't up to starting such a huge challenge, just to fail again.
Then I stumbled on MFP. A great little tool that would help me keep track, and help me stick to a plan that I could work under. As time passed the added benefits of a great community of friends would support me and keep me accountable to myself, as well as them.
Now, I'm a changed person. (Feel free to look at my profile pictures). I weighed in this morning at just over 273 lbs, 107 lbs lighter than my starting weight on November 10th. This weight is significant to me because it was what I weighed almost 14 years ago in August of 1997. Back then, I had just returned from my honeymoon with my new wife, who "encouraged" me to get a complete physical done. I remember stepping on that scale and feeling so disappointed in myself for letting get myself to 273 lbs. I had gained 8 lbs on my 2 week honeymoon! Little did I know that that was just the beginning, and over the next 14 years I would lose control, and allow myself to continue to gain weight. Now, at 273 lb I'm elated. Why? Its not your weight, but the direction that you are heading in that determines your future. I still have some way to go to reach my target weight, however I am CERTAIN I will reach that goal. Thanks to the numerous friends that have helped me along the way. If I can help you, please feel free to send me a friend requ

What an inspirational story! Great Job! I know you probably feel like you turned back the clock and you did. That's how I feel everyday I zip up my size 32 jeans.... It's like I'm 17 again. You'll get there and people won't believe you were ever big, but you will have that experience in your back pocket giving you the confidence to hold your head high the rest of your life.0

I can't tell you how inspiring your story is to me! I started mfp about 2 1/2 months ago and have gone from 365 lbs. to 337 lbs. and my diabetes status has turned into prediabetes from full blown diabetes. I completely identify with your journey. You are right! It is about regaining your life back, being open to the wonderful support here than it is about the weight. I would definitely like to friend you. All the best, congrats and thanks again!0
