its pretty interesting.
basically says that two groups on an 800 liquid cal diet. one group did weights/resistance training and the other cardio.
its says on a very low cal diet, those who lifted weights preserved lean body mass (muscle) and BMR. while cardio only group didnt (they lost muscle and thier BMR decreased).
thought it was interesting bit of science..i'm bias since i lift weights. ;-)

Duh. So many people are afraid or resistant to lifting weights. I wonder how many articles and studies have to come out for people to "get it".
Lift weights, people! And for anyone wondering how to overcome a plateau .. how about trying to lift weights?0 -
I lift too. But it's because of studies like this. Otherwise I'm not sure I would have started and that would have been a shame because lifting has given me so many benefits other than weight loss.0
