How am I gonna count calories for cycling with my 30lbs son in his trailer towing behind.
I can't afford a HRM just yet either.
Any ideas?

I'd try using this site. Just add 30 pounds to your normal weight. When you can afford an HRM get one. I got mine for $35 at Big 5 on sale. It was normally like $70.

You could set your weight to 30lbs higher than it is, add the exercise as cycling at the appropriate speed, and then change your weight back to its correct level. Or just ignore it as it'll be a small bonus to your weight loss. I don't think it'll be a huge amount.

Yes! It assists you with keeping your heart rate on target and if you get a good one, it can also count your calories burned, fat burned, target heart rate in zone, time out of zone and time above zone.

I don't burn anymore when I bike towing my 30 pound son. I feel it more in the legs for sure, but according to my HRM, I dont burn more cals.
