Did it come back?

Hey guys! So, I just looked to see how many calories I'd have to eat in order to MAINTAIN my weight and it said 2100 calories. I freaked out thinking about how I can barely keep my sodium intake at or below 1500 when eating 1200... 2100 is going to make it extremely tough. Also, it seemed like I would GAIN weight back if I started eating that many. What do you think?

Anyone on here that just switched from "losing (x) pounds per week" to "maintaining weight"? What's it like?

MFP wanted me in the 1700 range to lose weight (it's too low for me - I didn't lose anything). It wanted me around 1800 to maintain. It was too low for me. I played around with the numbers til I found one where I don't gain and I'm not hungry either. I average around 2000 but I don't go lower than that.

My maintenance calories are 1540 a day - been on that for around a month now. I'm finding that it's harder to maintain than it was to loose because I'm no longer putting my weight in every week and I'm not so strict about logging every single mouthful I eat. I was poorly just after I hit target too so I went under by about 3lbs which wasn't good. I had to eat extra to bring myself back to the right level and then my body was thinking - I like this amount of food - so coming back to 1540 was had. Easter was difficult - all that chocolate!

I'd increase the calories gradually and see what happens.

Also, if you lost the other 25 lbs your maintenance calories would be lower too. I realised I could lose weight because I was eating like a pig and maintaining, rather than getting any bigger. Think back to how you used to eat and whether you were gaining, and that might also act as a guide.

Personally, this week has been weird. I've gone over calorie regularly, following my hunger, and the scales say I'm shrinking! Either I'm measuring something wrong or the scales are broken! I'll change the battery, and if I still find the same I'll borrow back my previous set of scales.

If anyone wants to see how badly you can eat and still maintain, friend me:embarassed:

I should mention that everyone's body is different. You'll have to see what works for you by messing with the numbers a little bit. I don't want to be out of calories and hungry at the end of the day. But, I also don't want to gain the weight back because I'm eating too much. That is why I played around with the numbers until I found a spot where I'm not gaining AND I'm not hungry. :)
