Another weekend binge, Please help!

This weekend, as well as last weekend, I went on a major overeating spree, which basically ruined my week in terms of weight loss. I feel like I just feel like I lose control during the weekend. Every weekend I say I'll do better, but I end up pigging out and eating way too much.
Please tell me I am not alone because I am feeling so guilty and terrible about this.
Also, if you guys have any tips and tricks for avoiding weekend binges, I would be super happy to hear them!

You're not alone. I am currently eating cheesecake and I know I'm over my calories for the day, and just don't care right now. It is rare that I do this, but when I do I just remind myself that tomorrow is another day and I am going to do this sometimes. Biggest thing that helps me to keep from doing it is not denying myself anything. If I want that bowl of ice cream, I eat it, I just try to plan for it in advance. A lot of people just tell you not to buy it, but that is truly easier said than done when you're binging, since we usually just make a special trip to the store for something bad.
Don't deny yourself things, just moderate how much of them you eat throughout the week. Your cravings will go down over time. And do not beat yourself up every time you fall off the wagon. You're human, we make mistakes. :flowerforyou:0 -
I understand completely & believe me you're not alone. When I know I'm in one of those moods (over indulging just because) I force myself to workout extra hard. If it's walking a extra mile or doubling my 20 min workouts. This way I can eat that CHEESECAKE & not feel guilty. :-) Another tip... Workout early so u kno exactly how many extra calories u can have, that helps me. Weekends are rough, but we gota take control of them & not let them get the best of us... Also hav u tried the assortment of 100 calorie packs they hav out??? They hav everything your heart can possibly desire... If you usually binge on sweets picking up those might b a good idea. So whn u do indulge it's not that bad, even If u hav 2 or 3 which is ONLY 300 calories vs 600+ frm

i used to have the same problem!! (and sometimes still do!)
1. forgive yourself, **** happens... ***probably the hardest thing to do!**
2. don't try to completely starve yourself in order to make up for those overeaten calories. Just go back to normal goals the next day. (in my opinion, if you restrict after a binge, then it will lead to more binges!)
3. Keep yourself busy during the weekends - take an extra walk when you feel a binge coming... remember that you'll feel much better after the workout or walk and most likely the cravings will lessen
hope this helps!0 -

Thank you all so much for your comments, I feel a little better. I am trying my hardest to not beat myself up about it, but it is really hard to convince myself that it's not a big deal. I think maybe with mother's day and eating out, I justified the overeating, but I will definetely get back on track tomorrow. And do it in a healthy way.
I love the tip of keeping busy or going for a walk when I feel like I'm about to reach for sweets ( and yes, I adore sweets, so thank you for the 100 cal pack suggestion) because I tend to over eat when I am bored or stressed.
Thanks again!0 -
you are SOOOOOO not alone! I pig out on Wed evenings/Thursdays after weigh in! I feel so bad after, but I just can't seem to help it!! Also, if I am stressed I do it too.
Hang in there... you can do it!!0 -
The only tip I can really give you is to eat lightly during the day and afternoon so that when you go out with friends you can afford to overeat a bit and still not be too off target from your calorie goal. Exercise it off and drink a bottle of water before and after your meal so your hunger will be minimal.0

Thanks again everyone!
Today I am drinking so much water, since I read that this helps the day after a binge or having a huge meal.0
