I BINGED!!!

I had a great week! I was under my calories everyday and very active and productive. It felt so good. Had an amazing mothers day and everyone in my family is so supportive and we had healthy meals which kept me under my calories, but then it happened. I bowl on a league and I had a few shots during bowling(while still staying under my calories) caught a decent buzz, came home happy after bowling amazing and BINGED!!! What the hell happened. I'm so frustrated and upset with myself and forced myself to log it but even while seeing the devastation I couldn't stop myself:( It makes me feel hopeless!

Don't feel hopeless at all! It happens sometimes! It was only 1 night, and the fact that you feel bad about it says a lot! Tomorrow is a new day and you can only learn from what happened tonight. No worries. Just work out a little more tomorrow to make up for tonight. You'll be fine!0

always remember that it's just one day out of many. alcohol lowers inhibitions and i know when i drink i get unbelievably hungry and the only thing that satisfies me a huge greasy burger.
exercise a bit more tomorrow and put it behind you. mistakes happen. it's when we learn from those mistakes, pick up, and keep going that success happens.0 -
Its one day - draw a line under it and start again.... We're only human and therefore will fall down now and again; like the old saying goes, how and when you pick yourself back up is more important. Don't forget that this is a lifestyle change and not just a diet therefore its the whole journey that counts; not just individual days.
The only way you will fail is if you let yourself give up after this one event; now THAT would be undoing all your good work. Just dust yourself off, think about what you can learn from it then move one; don't punish yourself as "everyday is an opportunity to turn it all around"Good luck!!!! Vx

I've had those days. That's why I work hard the other days, so that I can enjoy the occassional 'over' day. Don't beat yourself up. Just keep going.
BTW, have you noticed that you get a buzz going faster when you are negative in calories?.... it seems to happen to me.0 -
Hmm, don't be too hard on yourself. It will happen occasionally, but as long as you keep on eating healthier and exercising then you will keep losing weight.
However, after binging it is important to understand why you did it. The first part is easy: alcohol lowers your inhibitions, so all the willpower that kept you from binging during the day became susceptible. I would wager that there is probably at least one other contributing factor, and I encourage you to maybe do some journaling about it, or about how you feel on other days when you tell yourself no. Write about the emotions that certain foods give you, why you felt helpless to stop eating.
I understand how horrible that feeling of helplessness to do anything but EAT EAT EAT is. It is really hard to move on from it, because you are ultimately afraid that it will happen again, and even more you feel a bit helpless about losing weight. Remind yourself of all your triumphs and all your successes. Figure out your motivation and use it heavily when you are feeling helpless.0 -
