Thoughts on guided meditation for weightloss

So I've been listening to Kelly Howell's Sacred Body Guided Meditation Cd and I have to say I like it and it is very relaxing. It's about 30 minutes and she has a velvety voice that walks you through meditation with imagery and theta waves (you are supposed to listen with headphones). I am not one of those people that believes in magical fixes or cures, but I do believe things have power when you give it to them. This disk is supposed to be listened to everyday for roughly 30 days to help change your habits and how you view your relationship with food. I actually use it in times when I have cravings that I can't get off my mind, and I listen to it as I drift off to sleep. I have been listening to it for about 3 weeks now and I can see a difference in my habits even just as far as I don't just grab food, I naturally grab just one serving size. It could just be a placebo effect but hell at this point it still works and it really re-energizes me. Has anyone else tried or had any noticeable changes with meditation cd's, if so which ones do you like most?

Is it like....hypnotizing or something?0

It's kinda like self hypnosis, in the idea that you relax your mind and reintroduce new thought patterns that are healthier. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit, well this is kind of like that, you listen to it everyday and introduce these new healthier suggestions when your brain is in a simple relaxed state, so these patterns replace your old unhealthy ones. Hypnosis and meditation only works if you allow it too.0

Yes, I too listen to guided meditation and self-hypnosis weight-loss CD's, mostly at night. My current fav is: Guided Meditation Using Self Hypnosis Techniques and Yoga Nidra Relaxation for Weight Loss by Splendor of Meditation. I may need to get the Kelly Howell one as well just to mix it up some. I love the concept of "mindful" eating as opposed to "mindless" eating which is what I used to do! It only makes sense to engage your subconscious in the weigh-loss effort along with everything else. Reprogramming all those little negative messages and thoughts you've listened to for so long into helpful positive ways of thinking is so important!

I have an ipod and I purchased it at the ipod store, but amazon also has her. Listen to the snippets of the disks they have first so you can make sure it is something that you would like to listen to.0 -
I get my self-hypnosis CD's on Amazon, just type in self-hypnosis weightloss in the search area.0

I can highly recommend a book called "Adore yourself Slim" by Lisa Jackson- it was really inspiring and comes with a hypnosis CD.0
