NSV for me

Yesterday was Mother's Day, which presented quite a temptation of foods for me.

1) We shopped for lunch at the market/deli, with free samples of cherry cheesecake, strudel, cookies, and other stuff. While I did *look* at it, I walked away and went to the other wall to avoid the sight and smell.

2) Our lunch "treat" was fresh strawberries, ice cream, and fudge brownies. I took just the strawberries and didn't even put any ice cream of brownies on my plate.

3) I enjoyed the food I had, and didn't feel like I needed food as a reward - I ate what I liked, and avoided even touching the foods I know that are my downfall. (Ice cream can't be fattening, right? It's natural and organic..).

4) I'm drinking way more water, and while I'm still not off my tail end as far as exercising goes (I'm just walking or working in the garden for exercise), I'm feeling good about controlling what I eat.

    Thanks.

And - I just had a situation at work crop up where I got very, very frustrated with the lack of information I need for my job, and I was very tempted to eat crap.

So I walked around a bit, had a glass of water, walked some more, then peeled a navel orange and had that as my snack
