Eating Issues Support Group, 2nd Thread

The first thread was getting super long, so I thought I'd start part two so that new people looking for support (and us, too), aren't having to slog through so much!
It's Monday, so why don't we start the 2nd thread by posting a healthy goal we'd like to achieve this week - even something small - and how we're going to go about achieving it! :flowerforyou:

For myself - I would like to eat at least a small amount of something healthy for lunch every day, no matter how bad my appetite is. I'm going to set a designated time to eat it, 5:00 PM, since lunch is in the early evening for me, and plan what to have an hour or two before, not at the last minute, because if I do the latter I'll get caught up in the "but nothing appeals to me" trap.
ETA: And I'm going to check in here every day to say whether I did so that day, to keep myself accountable.0 -
Good idea allaroundthesun! This week I'm going to try to have a more balanced diet, even if I don't hit my calorie goal each day. I really struggle with getting too much sugar, sodium, and fat Good luck this week everyone! Remember, one day at a time!0

Checking back in to say that I just had some whole wheat penne (no sauce, just a bit of salt) for lunch. Only 50g, granted, and it's certainly not the *most* healthy food ever, but for me just eating lunch and having it be something relatively healthful is a step. So, achieved my goal for today.0

This week (tomorrow to next Tuesday) instead of stopping by the gas station for a bag snack I will stop by the grocery store for some veggies or fruit.0

Remember, one day at a time!
I'm really glad you said that, excellent point! I wanted to say that I find that approach really helpful as well - I get so overwhelmed thinking about a whole week or month, but if I focus on just "today" it's way more manageable. Actually, even taking it hour by hour sometimes when I'm having a particularly hard time helps me.0 -
I'm going to set a lofty goal... at least its lofty for me! I've always heard that it takes a deficit of 3500 calories to lose a pound. So, I'm going to give myself two weeks from today to burn a cumulative 3500 calories A whole extra pound in addition to what I hope to lose by eating healthier and staying within my caloric goals (thanks to the rockin' food log on this site!)
Maybe 3500 calories in 2 weeks doesn't sound too hard to do, but after I've finished 45 minutes on the treadmill and my heart-rate-monitor says I've only burned 450 calories, yeah, I think it'll be challenging enough. Let's all post back and update everyone on whether we pulled it off or not. I'm no good without accountability!
Wish me luck! And good luck to all of you and your goals as well.0
