Funny, I was just reading up on the same stuff. I haven't specifically tried to train according to mine but I am thinking about it now because I have noticed that when I do a lot of heavy weights, I do put on muscle quickly. I'm not opposed to getting more muscle but I don't need my legs to look like tree trunks either LOL!

I am currently doing a lot of running and haven't done much with weights lately but will probably start incorporating light weights at higher reps. According to the body type info I could find on the internet, I should be doing a mix of cardio and weights. It was recommended that I not do cardio more than three days/week but I don't see how that would work with training for races and such, so...

I do train according to my body type.. I'm a mesomorph.. according to information I've found, I cannot GAIN weight easily but then again I cannot lose it easily either... I have a 1 hour routine of about a 60/40 split of weights/ Cardio on 2 days... and 40/60 on the other 3 days.. I tend to build muscle faster than I can lose fat so my focus varies and it has been working really well for me (in terms of inches rather than lbs. lost)... I recommend checking into it and see what works for you... but a calorie burned is a calorie burned!

Yes, I am careful about the types of exercise I do. You cannot target fat loss, but you can target muscle mass. My butt is really big so I don't do resistance exercises (like elliptical and spinning) on my lower body. This has worked great for me.

Here is a little test to get you looking in the right direction to train to your body type

Not intentionally, but I am whatever type puts on muscle really fast, and I do end up doing heavier weights during circuit training than the others, simply because I can and I don't see the point in not getting a work out when that's what I've paid for.

Interesting stuff guys, just google body types to get more info. I'll post some links in the morning. But basically i'm an endomorph. I carry a lot of excess weight in the middle and I find it realllllllly hard to lose the fat. And I mean really hard, I feel like no matter what I do i'm constantly on a plateau. I've emailed & signed up for more info on this and will get back to you guys about what it says when i've read it thorough . Right now i'm gonna sleeeeeeep, got a heavy gym session in gthe morning. Night

I would suggest you guys take a look at these links for more info:

http://www.superskinnyme.com/Body_Type/Body_Type.html (explains what different body types are)

http://www.superskinnyme.com/Weight Loss/Exercise/Cardiovascular Exercise/Exercise_Body_Type.html (Which excercises are most effective for each type).

I think Endomorph for me is spot on. I need to focus on the running and do moderate weight training. Check what works for you

Apparently I am a small frame mesomorph. Who knew?

Which means I should limit weight if I don't want to look like a muscle Mary. Which I did know.
