Epic NSV

Okay, so maybe I exaggerated, but it felt epic to me!

Today I walked into work and was completely blown away by a MOUNTAIN of home made baked goods that occupied our break room table. Brownies, cupcakes, muffins, cookies, rice crispies drizzled in chocolate on a stick, fudge... It was like I fell into a hellish Candy Land where my arms were possessed by sweet tooth demons, desperate to try the chocolate cream cheese brownies!

Apparently we had a bake sale on Saturday, and the leftovers were then given to all of us as a thoughtful, destructive present!

My victory today will be told in tales for many generations, for I did not eat a single baked good! I sat at the table, huddled in my chair with the lunch I packed and stared into the belly of the beast of pastries. I have to say that I am very proud of myself!

Awesome, awesome job!

I always end up giving in at least a little when this happens at my work! We are celebrating 2 birthdays tomorrow in the office, so I am about to face this same challenge!

I am so very proud of you!! I too work in a place that has snackies all the time, and it is so difficult to stay away from them. I will try to use you as an example tomorrow when the cookies, cupcakes, candy and doughnuts are staring at me!

Good job! I had a similar experience today during a group presentation. They brought in a rhubarb crisp and ice cream to enjoy with their knowledge-giving. I ate my banana.

Actually I was pleasantly surprised recently by one of these in our workplace that included ^^ a fruit platter ^^ So I did join in the socialising without joining in the self destruction.
