Dumb question about calories in and calories out!

Just wondering, if the goal to lose weight is to burn more calories than you eat, why does the calorie counter add more calories for you to eat after you log in your exercise?

    Your calorie intake is based on a deficit from your basal metabolic rate, or what you need to live if you stayed in bed all day long every day.

    If you get out of bed and use more energy, you need more fuel. There is much debate on this topic. I tend to listen to my body and eat the extra calories if I feel like I need them. I hardly ever eat them all on my heavy exercise days, but I have once or twice.

    But, you're still at a calorie deficit based on your BMR, even if you eat all your "extra" exercise calories. This is determined by how you set your weight loss goal.
