I know you gain weight when lifting weights but 3lbs in one week? Is that normal? or did I just go over my calories? According to the foods here, I was doing ok

It's not muscle weight. It would take months of very heavy lifting to gain that much but your muscles do retain water in order to repair themselves so maybe this is part of it, if you've pushed yourself hard this week?! Sodium levels could be part of it...there are so many factors that come into play with weight loss. I'm sure it will fall back off quickly, make sure you're drinking plenty of water!

That is a myth. You will not gain muslce lifting 3x a week. It is most likely water weight related to changing your exercise habits or sodium intake.

Heavy muscle use can cause the muscles to retain water - it is part of the rebuilding process. Don't worry it is only temporary. I am up 1.5 lbs from a good day of lifting yesterday.

More muscle = more water and more glycogen stored. Add on as said, you fluctuate weight daily. Don't get caught up in the scale's numbers - use the mirror. It's a more accurate and inspiring tool.

I gain 3-5 pounds a week depending on the week. I eat a very low sodium diet 1500mg and eat my daily calories goals and drink my water(although I don't report it sometimes I still drink it) I've been working out for three now and burn 3,500 kcals a week and still gain! It's not fun it's frustrating and makes me want to give up. I know how you feel. Everyone says keep going so I do. Don't give up yet!
