Need tips on how to get rid of the muffin top? I seem to be slimming down in other Ares of my body but not in the belly area.

Keep going! I didn't lose mine until I got my BMI under 24. Above that l carry excess fat around the hips/waist.0

crunches, both regular ones and tranverse crunches (when you lift your butt up but keep your back on the floor)
bicycle crunches work really well too0 -
I'm losing in my upper abs, but belly button and below still hanging around. It'll be our luck that's the last to go. I heard crunches having nothing to do with it. You'll just build muscle under the fat. Just have faith that in time it'll be gone with all that cardio.0

running really helps.0

You can't target one area to lose in (unfortunately).
A flat belly is made in the kitchen--at least that's what all the experts say! Less processed and more whole foods. It also may be where you carry your weight. My Dad works out daily and is a fitness nut and very healthy. He still has a gut. Some of us were just built that way, and for me it runs in the family.0 -
Nutrition. Cardio. All those crunches are not going to get rid of it, you have to lose the fat first.0

It may just be the last place you lose weight...I know mine's getting smaller but it hasn't changed nearly as dramatically as other areas of my body. There's not such thing as spot training so just keep working at it and you'll see a difference eventually. Also, make sure you're taking measurements - sometimes you can't tell for sure by looking at yourself but the measuring tape doesn't lie.0

Heavy cardio will do it...Crunches makes your ab muscles bigger which makes you belly area bigger...cardio and weights will drop it fast..believe me I know....0

Give it some time - it will come. While I have lost the weight (cardio cardio, cardio) I am still toning in the mid-section. I do Tony Horton's 7 min abs (on YouTube) everyday - plus my Zumba instructor is Zumba Tone certified and is focusing on this section for me!0

The more work you put into your legs, your waist has to follow through.
Lunges, Squats, Spin bike. Be sure to hit the heavy weights for that and you will see great results.0 -
So keep with the cardio, measure, do sit-up's for abs and keep it light in the kitchen? Ok thanks guys!!0

Those muffin tops can be deflated if you combine cardio & strength. Cardio burns fat while strengthening builds muscle, which in turn burns fat while you aren't exercising.
That said, the best cardio for you will be one that incorporates core exercises into the program such as Turbo Jam, kickboxing, or cardio core circuits.
For strength exercises to help stabilize the core and strengthen the muscles in the entire front, back and sides of your core, the following link gives you visual and verbal cues on what the exercises are and how to execute them properly with good form.
Hope this helps and all the best to you!0 -

Sit ups simply won't work for that. I'm sorry folks but it don't.
^^^ Sounds like Audjrey knows what's going on... Good advice there as well !0 -
You can't isolate fat loss to a specific body part.
I've also heard that the first place where you gain, is the last place you where you'll lose (correct me if this is false).
Also visceral fat is harder to lose so you may have increase your cardio intensity.
Patience, cardio, strength training and eating less calories is all you gotta do and eventually it'll come off.
Sit-ups and crunches are good for strength training but don't expect them to defeat the muffintops on their own.0
