Hi, I have been using MFP since January and thought I would finally introduce myself. I retired from the Air Force last August and pretty much let my self go until around Christmas time. My heaviest weight was 225, I am only 5'10". We took some family pictures for Christmas and my size blew me away. I have always been on the heavy side, long family history of obesity. I decided that my New Years resolution was to lose some weight and get into shape. I lost a few pounds on my own just cutting down on my portion sizes, then I found MFP. Since joining this site I have met and passed my initial goal of 195. I have revised my goal and now I am looking to get into the 180 - 190 range, also I have decided that I want to tone up.
Well that is my story, I look forward to continuing this journey.

That is awesome! You are an inspiration. My hubs is in the Army Reserves still and hasn't passed his PT in years. Seeing how you have lost weight hopefully makes him see that he can lose it too! He is down 12 lbs already. He is just an inch taller. Thanks for the motivation.

Good luck to you! All three of my children are now in the Air Force. The oldest (all of 28) is already worried about losing strength and not passing his PT exam. I love this site. It has been just the kick I've needed to help me do the things, and eat the things, I have known I should have been doing for years. Seeing it in print just brings reality into my life and it is working. Make it your lifestyle, rather than a "diet", and it looks like you will be a lifetime success story.
