Hi- I am 26 about to be 27 and am dieting to be back into my old size I was last summer. I lost 5 pounds in like a week or something fast like that...I had my calorie limit at 1000 and I tried to eat right at that and exercise so I'd lose weight. It worked for a week?.... Now I can't seem to budge below that number....and today I woke up and had added over a pound!??? I'm so confused. Do I need to eat more? Also are we supposed to go by calories consumed or net calories from after we exercise as the target for our caloric intake?...
I want to lose 5-6 more pounds this month if I can and I want to to it the right way. i want to lose fat not muscle.
Does anyone have any advise?:flowerforyou:

At 1000 calories, unless you are very small, by that I mean short and light framed, you are way too low on calories. Your body is revolting and refusing to lose weight. On top of that, those 5 pounds in a week or so were probably very little fat, a fair portion of muscle and water weight. You need to increase your calories to something that will take off 1 pound a week or less, especially now that you have pushed so hard.0

I don't really concern myself with weight fluctuation since I seem to vary quite a bit. I changed my diet to higher protein and trying to drop a lot of those refined carbs and added some weight lifting since I'm trying to maintain/gain muscle while losing fat also. I'm not an expert, but I think that consuming too few calories in a day can slow metabolism.0

Your body weight can fluctuate +/- several pounds in a day! MEASURE EVERYTHING that passes your lips and your exercise calories and your body measurements. Stick to your plan. Don't be discouraged by the scale0

Thank you for the help! I'll work on eating more and cutting carbs and .....will try really really hard to not get on my scale so much :blushing:0
