i want yall's advice..i burned off about 1000 calories today raking leaves in the yard..i still managed to eat ( will later for dinner ) just over 1200 cals as suggested, but i still have about 1500 calories left over..question is, i don't think i will be able to eat much more after dinner, but is having that many left over ok, or do i need to find something else to take my cals down more ? thanks guys

You should be ok. You wouldn't want to make it a habit, but once in a blue moon doing something like that won't hurt. Not to mention that calorie count may be high, unless you wore a HRM.

Some people on here say eat the calories you burn along with the rest and some say don't eat the calories you burn. I think if you aren't hungry anymore ans you ate over 1200 you are fine.

Are you going by MFP's calorie counter? Because it horribly overestimates. I weigh 236 and do 40 minutes in Zone 2 on the Elliptical. Here I get over 600 calories. In real life it's 204 to 224 and I wear a Polar FT60 so it's super accurate. Ugh, I hate to think of folks going by this counter and eating exercise calories that never really were.

edited to add: Zone 2 is up to 140 BPM for me, so I'm cranking. There is something really wonky with the MFP system.

have a couple of boiled eggs and a big handful of nuts. not much to eat but chews through the calories while giving great nutrition.
