eating *carbs* back?

Just recently I've started to strictly watch my carb intake. I noticed that when I record my exercise for the day my carb count goes up (just like with my calories). For you carb watchers out there - do you eat your carbs back?

Nope, I sure don't. I will allow a few over my base number but not anywhere near how much MFP says I can eat.0
-
Nope. I stick super close to 100g or less per day no matter what my calories add to my day.0

I do and sometimes I am over due to fruit and veggies. As you can tell by my ticker it has not stopped me from loosing weight.0

The reason your carb allowance goes up is that MFP bases the carb/protein/fat goals on their % of your daily calories. The default is 55% carbs, 15% protein and 30% fat. Since MFP gives you more calories to eat when you exercise, your fat/protein/carbs all go up proportionately.
For example: If you're at 1400 before exercise, and 50% of those are carbs (700 calories = 175g carbs) and have 1600 calories after exercise, then 50% of that is 800 calories for carbs, or 200g.0 -
Nope. Restricting my carbs helps deplete glycogen and put me in ketosis, fat burning mode. Eating more carbs will just refill the glycogen tank, making it harder to get into, or maintain, ketosis.0

Okay. So my next question is: what the heck do you guys eat to keep your carb count that low? I'm having some trouble with that...0

No I try to stay between 100-120 grams a day. I up my protein though. If I ate as many carbs as MFP says I would be bloated bad.0

I eat alot of fish very little fruit as in like once or twice a week. I am allergic to most fruits so I take in more veggies like romaine lettuce radishes I don't eat much rice anymore (trigger)very little grains. I half the serving in half over that I will want to pig out.0 -
Eat less carbs and eat more meat. Simple. Ha!
Just cut out the breads and sugars. What are you having problems with?0 -

I'm trying to keep it just under 100g a day. I absolutely love fresh fruit and there seem to be lots of carbs in those so I'm looking for things to snack on that are lower in carbs.0 -
Yup, there's sugar (carbs) in fruit. I snack on protein bars, cottage cheese, or string cheese.0

definitely. Your brain needs carbs to run...and ketosis can lead to irritability LOL
Carbs are good for you. No need to avoid them.0
