More protein than carbs...is that good?

I just started using MFP this week. My first few days, I have ended up with plenty of carbs left, and negative proteins. I think this is a good thing, since I am a little bit of a carb addict, however, I am not sure. Is this site more driven by total calories, or should I really be trying my best to follow the correct amount of each measurement (carbs, proteins, fats, etc). ?? Please weigh in (no pun intended...heehee). Love to hear what you think....

    1. The suggested protein on here is WAY low.

    2. Its likely not going to physically harm you to go with more protein than carbs.

The site works on the theory that it's total calories in vs. out that matter, yes.

Many people find that the default MFP goals for protein and fiber are very low and that the carb goal is pretty high at 55% of total macronutirents.

If you are working out, you should be aiming for .5-1 gram of protein per body weight per day. So I think going over on protein is great!

Whether you try to manage your carbs is up to you, although you'll feel a lot more satisfied and have fewer insulin spikes and then crashes if you can make most of your carbs come from unprocessed sources. I aim to keep my carbs around 100 per day, but that's me.

I lost the bulk of 90 lbs eating a LOT more protein than carbs. In general I try to keep my carbs below 100 and my protein over 120.

you can change the ratio for carbs/protein/fats by manually setting your goals. I set my protein to 50% of my diet.

I'm glad a lot of other people are having this problem as well. I NEVER meet my carbs. What can I even eat to meet that in a day??
And I always go over on protein.
