I want to do a 40 % protein 30 carb 30 fat diet as I want put on lean muscle mass while losing fat (yes it is a hard act to balance-I know). I just want to know how the hell do I figure out from that how many grams and ounces of each I should be getting. Also this is terrible I know-- but in theory I know what a carb is but when I look at my diary I can't figure out what is what--- for example cheese...is that a carb? (Silly question I know and I am sorry).
Any help would be much appreciated.

Zeus may not show you, but Anubis sure will.
Go to "MY HOME" > "Goals" > "Change Goals" > "Custom" - Continue > Adjust ratios > Save > ??? > Success
It will automatically calculate the amount of grams per nutrient you need to hit.
From your example, cheese is usually protein + fat. Minimal to no carbs, depending on the cheese.0 -
Cheese is protein, fat and carbs.
Arbitrary %'s will get you nowhere. Find your caloric needs, dish out 1-1.5g/lb bodyweight for protein. ~17-25% for fats. Fill rest in for carbs. Win.0
