No Progress

So, lets just say I am beyond discouraged.

I have been trying to lose weight for over two months (in reality, longer but really trying). I have been watching my food/calorie intake and exercising when I get the time. My job involves me being on my feet most of the day and walking often. Not to mention, I'm in graduate school so lets just say, my spare time is spent trying to sleep!

Any pointers for me? I have made NO progress. None. Nothing. Everyday my MFP tells me "You'll weight 137 in 5 weeks" or variations of that...and well, it has been over 5 weeks and no change. What can I do differently?

Please please please help! 15 lbs before August is my goal. I have a wedding I am standing in :]
thanks.

It would depend on what your diary looks like (you would have to make it public), your height, weight, etc... Maybe cut down on carbs (not eliminate), sugar and sodium. Make sure you are getting at least 1200 calories or your metabolism will shut down. Good Luck!

maybe up your calories to a minimum of 1200 net and drink lots of water. That seems to be what works for lots of people. Good luck for the wedding

I can tell you why you've had no progress... you aren't eating enough. You should be netting at LEAST 1200 calories a day or your body basically shuts down your metabolism to conserve the resources it does have for 'energy'. Basically, your body thinks it is starving and will hold onto every little thing it gets to deal with that. You have you calorie goals set at 1200, so you should really be hitting that 1200 mark or a little over EVERY day. If it makes you nervous to see the red numbers then up your goal to 1300 and make sure your net calories are at least 1200 on a daily basis. A lot of people don't realize that not eating enough is just as bad as eating too much, but it is true and has been proven on this site again and again... good luck

Thank you! I try to get to the 1200 and for some reason, it is hard sometimes but I think I'm not always calulating right either with portion sizes. I've actually made some huuuge mistakes in my past and did starve myself for months...which has screwed up my metabolism.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I will try and eat more :)
