Dress/Pant Sizes

Okay this is going to be a weird question but bear with me.
I have about 35 more pounds to loose. I have already lost 24. I have not even dropped a pants size yet. I have tried a size smaller than what I wear now and they still don't fit. How come I see diet commercials and there's people who only loose like 30 pounds and they've dropped like 6 dress sizes? Since I have gained 65 pounds I have only gone up 2 sizes. Is this normal for some people? Is it because I carry my weight around my middle (stomach, hips, thighs)? It's frustrating thinking I'm halfway to my weight loss goal and I haven't even changed clothes and dropped a pants size.
Thanks!

There is a difference between inches and pounds. take measurements of your tummy!0

I'm the same way. I've lost like 30lbs and only went down 2 sizes. I carry a lot of weight in my hips and even though all of me is getting smaller;they're getting smaller slower.0

Every person carries weigh differently. There are no hard and fast rules about it, despite the commercials and the google. Just stay on your path to health. The clothes will change when they are ready to. Ignore the rest.0

I have the same problem. My tops have gone from 3X to large, but my bottoms are not changing a whole lot. But, if you take your measurements you will see a difference. I have noticed my bottoms are starting to fit looser, but it takes time. I heard tummy weight is harder to lose. Good luck and just know you will get there, but it does take time.0

Like others have said, everyone carries their weight differently. One thing you might want to think about too is how those jeans that still fit you now ACTUALLY fit you before. Did they really fit you properly, or did you tell yourself they looked fine when really you weren't that true size? Find a picture of yourself at the beginning of your weight loss journey. Put on that same outfit and take a picture. Compare the two and I'm sure you'll see a difference. Also, take your measurements! The tape measure is so much more telling than the scale.0

I lost 10 pounts so far, did not change size, but my jeans sit an inch lower at waist I'm totally OK with that.0

I'm the other way round: I apparently haven't lost any weight for about 6 weeks, but have gone done a dress size. I think to be honest, most people show results one way or the other: I am soo jealous of your weight loss, but I guess you want it to show in sizes! I think the poster who said think about how you fit into your clothes before has a very good point: I think most of us may have been squeezing ourselves into a size that wasn't quite right! I think the name of the game here is patience. I am fully expecting to show a weight loss soon, and I am sure that you will be a size down in no time, of you just stick with it. Your body is undergoing a lot of change at the moment, and it takes a while for these things to settle.0

I was a tight size 14 at the start, I lost 20lbs altogether and now some of my size 12's are loose...not all as I have a big behind! But I reckon its all about the inchloss, not the weightloss!! Cant wait to drop another size but that'll probably take liposuction in my *kitten* first! haha0
