HELP PLEASE!!

SO TIRED OF THE SCALE AND IT"S LIES....I have been stuck for a month now...FINALLY lost a pound last week..and now this morning I supposedly gained 5.5lbs back?? What the heck!!!! I have tried increasing activity, changing activities and even eatting more...but I just can't get these last 10 lbs off.. I am on the verge of just giving up!!

Don't give up! Keep going! You'll end up mad at yourself if you quit now, you're so close to your goal. Maybe you are stuck in a plateau? They always say the last 10 pounds are the hardest to lose (I wouldn't know, as I'm no where near close to my last 10 pounds!), so just keep trying. Sounds like you might need some new scales though. Are you weighing at the same time every time? It's best to weigh in the morning, because your weight fluctuates during the day, and I'm always the heaviest in the evening.
Just keep trying and don't give up! Think about how happy and proud you'll be when you've done it!0 -
I heard that weighing first thing in the morning is usually overstated. If you must weight in the morning, wait until about 9:30 or 10:30 at the earliest. I never weigh in the morning because I didn't like those results either. I weigh when I get home right before dinner.0

stay off the scale! for your own sake! (it's what i have to do)
the scale is just a number & who says what NUMBER you should really be at right?
When you look at Jillian Michaels do you say "wow, i bet she's about 130lbs" or do you say "wow, she looks fantastic".
Nobody cares about your weight (in numbers) except you, so join the crowd of people & don't care about your number either.
Focus on how you look in the mirror, how your clothes fit, how you look in that little black dress etc.
that's what people notice, not what number pops up at you when you stand on a little white death square.0 -
Don't give up - It sounds like you have hit a plateau. It also sounds like you might want to check the battery in the scale you are using. Also are you using the same scale every time you weigh. Perhaps the calibrations are different. Just don't give up. You are so close!!0

Absolutely no giving up! Listen, think about how much healthier you feel...that little scale demon drives me crazy, but we can't focus so much on the scale, focus on why you started this whole journey. You have done awesome, you may have hit a wall, but you are so close and by continueing to do the right thing you will surely reach your goal. It is absolutely certain that you will! I too got on the scale and had a 2lb gain, I just don't get it, my calories are on point, I am busting my tail, but there is no way that we can allow that to stop us from finishing this journey! You can do it girl!0

I would have to agree with the above poster. Stay off the scale for a while. Maybe your body doesn't want to lose anymore, and you need to just maintain at this point. Or you could try maintaining for a while then try losing a few more pounds slowly. Your body will let you know when it has plateaued finally and maybe this is it for you. The number on the scale doesn't mean anything. It depends on how you feel. You are healthy and have more energy that is the most important thing. You have done a great job!!! Don't blow it now.0

Its all about calories in and calories out. You should have no more than 1000 calorie deficent, 700 is ideal and 500 is okay. Change up your routine, because your body gets use to it. If doing all this, have your hormones checked. Don't give up!!! and STAY OFF THE SCALE0

You've lost 41lbs, that's a great achievement. I'm in a similar place in terms of losing my last few KG's and i completely understand where you are but i recently changed my approach and I'm now seeing some progress.
I'll always go back to the fact that weight loss is psychological in the majority of cases, and it's the mind where i started.
I first modified my weight and intake tracking to be more in line with my current life style. Strangely MFP said i needed to increase calories, so that's what i did. I think most people who have been MFP for as long as i have do get a little lazy with logging foods. I'm sure I'm not the only one who forgets to add the odd ice cream or lunchtime beer from time to time. I found that i was missing a little too much off my tracker and this contributed toward the drop in weight loss.
The second thing i did was to modify my exercise regime. My body had got too use to doing the 5K run every other day and it wasn't burning the same calories i used to. Having consulted a coach i was recommended an interval training method that actually stressed the body more and took less time from my day. That was a great change and instantly noticeable.
Finally i changed my diet again. I have certain core foods that I enjoy eating but there are a few of them that i eat out of habit and convenience (speed) due to my busy lifestyle. By changing my habit foods and adding more natural foods to my diet i noticed my body was once again able to boost my metabolism and weight loss is back on!
The key foods I've added to my diet are nut based. Mainly pistachio that have less fat than any other nut and also almonds. These are my key snack foods now along with raw veg and fruits. It seems to be doing the trick. Strangely nuts do have a lot of natural fats in them but it doesn't seem to impact my weight in any way.
I suppose the recent great weather in the UK has been a big mental boost as i'm outdoors all the time now being active rather than sitting in front of a PC!

I feel ya! i finished p90x with no where near the results I wanted. Quit working out for almost a month, ate healthy but let myself splurge and I have maintained my weight. TICKS me off! I am going to the doctor next week for a thyroid test. I had a baby 10 months ago and read it can screw things up, gotta at least try to figure out whats going on. Can't be "obese" according to bmi and only lose 16 pounds on p90x. If you need a kick in the rear message me, I may do the same0

We need more information before advice can be given. What is your current weight, height and BMI? What are you doing for exercise, if any? How many net calories are eating every day? How much water are you drinking? Are you getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night? What do you have your goal set at for weight loss? With only 10lbs. to go, you should consider lowering your goal to losing 0.5lbs. per week. This helped me break a 6-7 week plateau and the weight starting coming off again.
There's no way you gained 5.5lbs. in less than a week. That would require eating 2,750 calories per day. Try a different digital scale.0
