Hi, everyone! I've been a member for a bit, but recently went through a lull. I was part of an excellent weight loss program through a local hospital, and we focused on nutrition, exercise, and the psychology of weight loss.

I had a bad knee, and it got much, much worse. I had to quit the program to focus on Physical Therapy, and in the meantime, used it as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted and become sedentary again.

I find myself, yet again, gearing up to work on my health, and as I get older it seems harder every time I "start again".

I'm trying to eliminate the concept of "failing" from my efforts, as it's usually an excuse my brain uses to stop what I'm doing and not face my challenges.

I feel I need to lose at least 100 lbs slowly over time to reach a good goal - though that realistic goal will leave me still being "overweight" from conventional standards.

Is anyone else fighting the idea of perfectionism - i.e., that if you don't do everything to the letter, you've "failed"? And if so, how have you dealt with keeping momentum?

Thanks for being a great site of people to work with.
