Is rowing under cardio or strength?

I normally do a weighted row machine but I started just using a regular row machine on the highest resistance. I do about 3000 meters.
Is this considered cardio or just regular strength training?

Cardio, if it were strength training you would have to rest every 6-15 rows, if you go consistently, or only a few very short breaks then it is 100% cardio. Although you will get a good arm and back workout the Load is not enough to be considered strength training.0 -
It's technically strength training, but if you want to measure a calorie burn a HRM [with a chest strap] or BodyBugg type of device would be able to give a more accurate estimate of expenditure.
EDIT: erickirb stated it.0 -
also it's called an erg....
make sure to youtube correct form for the erg (as it's painful to watch most people at the gym trying to do it) ...you just may end up hurting knees/neck/back with wrong form0
