I actually joined MFP a few weeks ago, I just forgot to introduce myself I'm not looking to really lose weight, just tone up more. I have always been a health nut and a regular exerciser (5-6 times a week), but my self esteem has always been low. Emotional support is where I really need help.
I never realized just how many calories I was getting a day until I joined this site. After exercise I was hardly reaching 800 calories, which is why I wasn't seeing results with my workouts. Logically I know my body was in survival mode, but emotionally I felt like a failure. If I didn't burn at least 600 calories on cardio I was depressed (and that was only part of my workout for the day). My poor fiance is so frustrated with me because I beat myself up over how I look, which drives him crazy!! I am trying to make myself better. I have increased my calorie intake to around 1200 after workouts. I do eat 4-5 small meals a day to maintain my metabolism, which I wasn't doing before. I don't want to annoy my fiance anymore, and I am,getting tired of always beating myself up over food and body image. This site is my first step to making a change...wish me luck!

Hiya
I'd just like to say that it's great you recognise your issues and are doing something to deal with them.
I wish i could only eat 800 calories a day or have half the motivation and control you have, however as you have realised it's not healthy to be at your end of the scale.
I think you need to deal with your emotional issues and not associate them with a limited calorie intake and your body/exercise issue.
Your lucky to have your fiance by your side, supporting you - try not to push him away by dealing with things in the way that you are.
Good luck and well done :0)0
