Well I have gone and done it I have booked an appointment to join a Gym....
I have felt too embarrassed to go to a gym for years and have decided that if I am serious about losing the 150lbs I need to get rid of once and for all.
I have found a great personal trainer who is going to work with me he has promised to shout at me regularly (something I need) he has also promised that he will make me laugh when I feel like crying...
So here I go...... Watch this space all support and encouragement greatly appreciated.....

I don't know ANYONE who thinks badly of larger people at the gym. I'm more like "You go girl!!!" (or man, lol)
Honestly you have nothing to be ashamed of. Have fun!!!0 -
I hated the first visit to the gym too, I felt so out of place.. after a few visits tho, you'll be fine.. Take no notice!!! Enjoy )0

I am one chunky monkey, and to be honest with you, the gym is my favorite. I have tried to do zumba, and cardio boxing and all that jazz...but in the end I need a good sweat on the elypticall and my sad attempts at crunches. It's tough, I'm not going to lie, but think of the calories you'll burn, and the food you get to eat lol...you aren't going to be the only one there in sweats and a t-shirt instead of spandex shorts and a sports bra. People don't have the balls to sneer at me when I'm loping down the isle looking for a machine...what are they going to call me fat? I know that! That's why I'm here stupid! You'll do great, enjoy what your personal trainer teachers you because one day you'll be on your own. And don't worry about what other people are thinking, they're to busy looking at themselves and critisizing their 6 packs...0

You can do it! When I joined a gym, I wanted one that had "real" people in it. I don't want to go to one with a bunch of body builders or people who are in incredible shape. I wanted it to be full of people in all stages of this journey. I found one and I'm extremely happy there.0

Good for you! The first steps are always the most difficult. You should be very proud of yourself!0

I was nervous at first about going to the gym alone till I actually held my head up and looked around and realized everyone is there for the same reason. They all want to get in shape and become healthier. I then decided to talk to some of the people around me and they are very helpful with what machines do the best things for what I wanted to accomplish or help me operate a machine I had no clue how to operate. It is scary at first but keep your mind open and be positive, that positive vibe will shine thru and you will have great experiences at the gym!! Good luck!! :flowerforyou:0

You go girl! I was scared to go to the gym once, too. Then I realized that the people there are all in their own worlds. No one cares what anyone else is doing.0
-
Congrats and good luck!0

Best of luck to you!!! I know you can do it. I have 200 plus to lose and with a great attitude and taking it one day at a time you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Add me as a friend if you like and we can track each others progress.0

Yay!!! Don't be scared! Great idea getting a trainer ... I did that 50+ pounds into my loss & have never regreted it! He's a lot of the reason why I'm taking my Personal Trainer Certification this very week! GO GIRL!!!0

I've been really slipping backwards since christmas - but your blog has moved me and inspired me to fight to get back onto my own journey. I am screaming and cheering you on - all the way. - Life is like a coin, you can spend it how you like, but we only get to spend it once - so lets be proud and happy while we all do our thing, for ourselves and not for others.
Lots and lots of luck, support & motivational vibes being sent to you0 -
Good for you!! Great step forward!!0

You just took the biggest step towards a healthier life! Remember, most of those thin and fit people in that gym were more than likely not always that way and they have to work just hard to maintain their current body. Listen to your trainer and work your tail off while eating right and before you know it you will be a gym rat too!0
