Why Fake It!?

I don't know why we say that we want to eat healthy and then not take the time to do the research needed to eat healthy or we will just accept things OTHER people say as THE truth, instead of A truth - NOT necessarily MY truth. I look at some diaries and see people adding foods that right off the top I KNOW have more calories or have sodium but yet, they will accept that without looking for real answers in other nutritional databases. Now, I must come clean...when I first started counting calories and stuff I would "fake it" sometimes because I wanted My Diary to "look" perfect, not go over on calories and nutrients. THEN I got IT>>>The ONLY person I am fooling and letting down is ME.

So I ask, WHY FAKE IT?

When I first started tracking I was pretty much only looking at the calories. So if the calories were right, I used the entry. I didn't start tracking anything other than calories on a regular basis until almost eight or nine months in. So I'd bet even odds that my logs for those first eight or nine months are a mess if you look at the macros beyond the calories.

Not everyone tracks the same stuff as everyone else, so it may not be that they are trying to fake it or make things looks better for themselves or anyone else. They may just may not even realize that the info is off because those items aren't on their radar at this time. I wouldn't always assume the worst in folks base solely on some food log entries. :)

I don't fake it, I ignore it. Like, just don't log anything for the day at all. If I don't see it, it did not happen! Starting this new journey, I am not allowing myself any of that.

I also agree with the PP, I do not look beyond cals at this point, so the other stuff may be messed up. I wouldn't know. But I am not stressing about that at this time.
