I know this is personal, but I'm seriously considering switching birth control methods and noticed some discussion in another thread. What is your favorite method? I'm on Depo and love it (haven't had a period in 10 years), but I'm a little concerned it's keeping me from losing weight.

I have a Mirena IUD, which I think is the best thing I've ever decided to do for family planning. Set-it-and-forget-it for 5 whole years! :happy:0

I'm on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo
it's the only one I've been on and I've been on it for about 3 years. I was thinking about Yaz, but I will have to wait till next year!
I've heard that the shot is probably the worst with the water weight gain, something along those lines.. whether it's true or not, I don't know.0 -
I used nuvaring for years. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! Was off it two weeks when I got preggers. Once I stopped nursing, went back on and love it still. Go off it in 6 weeks to try again for baby. Will get mirena after next baby.0

I was on the patch for 5 years and loved it. No weight gain at all. No emotional rollacoaster for me either. Which was in stark contrast to Ortho Tri Cyclin.
On the down side, after 5 years I started having numbness and tingling in my legs, and I passe dout twice at the gym. It was the only perscription I was on and so I stopped taking it and all those problems went away. So no my doctor's are on blood clot watch. I've been off BC for 2 years now and we've luckily made it thus far with no kids.
I tried the Nuva ring for a while and it weirded my husband out. lol
So our birth control is prayer. LOL0 -

Haha I would always be afraid it would pop out when you didn't want to! and I'm not talking about, ya know, during that "fun time" haha sorry if this sounds gross or something!
Good luck to your on your babay!:flowerforyou:0 -
Never had a problem with it popping out at the wrong time... It actually makes things...different, but good...0
